Obituary

Ray Preston Gibbins, Jr. age 62 of Irving, TX, went to his Heavenly Home on Thursday, April 27, 2017. He was born on October 11, 1954 in Denton, TX to Ray and Nell Gibbins, they both preceded him in death, along with his sister, Jo Nell Stone; and nephew, Jason Stone. Ray then married the love of his life, Colleen Moore on June 3, 1977 in Irving, Texas. He served in the United States Marine Corp and then finished his career working for General Electric. Ray had a passion for music and was always encouraging new artists; he enjoyed going to Bill’s to help setup the musical equipment and supporting the musicians. Spending his Sunday watching Nascar races, or an afternoon ride on his motorcycle made him happy. Ray’s face lit up when he talked about his grandchildren; his family meant the world to him. He never met a stranger that didn’t become his friend. Survivors include his wife of nearly 40 years, Colleen Gibbins; daughter, Renee (Matt); son, Bryan (Melissa); daughter, Nicole; grandchildren, Hannah, Tanner, Tyler and Jax; sister, Peggy Way (Mutt); and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday, May 1st at Chism-Smith Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 2nd at Heart of Worship Baptist Church with interment following at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery.

To the family of Ray Preston Gibbins Jr: I would like to express my heartfelt condolence over the loss of your dear family member. I would like to share a comforting message from our Heavenly Father at Revelation 21:3, 4: "He [God] will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." May you find comfort by 'throwing all your anxiety on him [God], because he cares for you.' (1 Peter 5:7) Again, please accept my sincere condolence and may the God of peace grant you comfort and peace. www.jw.org
