Obituary

Harvey Lee Armer, age 79 of Irving, Texas passed away on Saturday, February 9, 2019. He was born in George, Arkansas on July 23, 1939 to Dewitt and Bessie Armer. He married Ethel on December 31, 1959 in Denton, Texas. She preceded him in death along with his brothers, Wesley, George and Dewey Armer. Harvey liked to hunt and garden but his passion was racing. He built his entire life around the racing world and made lasting friends. Harvey would invite everyone to his house if a race was canceled because of weather and they would all talk about how to make their cars faster and better. He is survived by his daughter, Teresa Harmon and her husband Tim; grandchildren, Shannon Bryant and Timothy Harmon, Jr; great-grandchildren, Terrell Ennis, Abigail Harmon and Kennedy Harmon. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 14th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Chism-Smith Funeral Home. A Graveside service will be 1:30 p.m., Friday, February 15th at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Irving.
