ObituaryFrancis "Gene" Allen, age 90, of Irving, Texas, passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2017. She was born in Winnsboro, Texas, on January 4, 1927 to Benjamin and Lilly Woodard. In 1946, Gene married the love of her life Morris Allen, he preceded her in dead in 2007. Together they built a very lucrative printing business in Irving. Gene was a workaholic and an avid entrepreneur. Before working at the print shop, she worked at 1st Irving Bank. Gene was a member of First Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School, and later moved her membership to Plymouth Park Baptist Church. She loved to read and travel overseas. Gene was a kind person, and an amazing mother-in-law. You couldn't’t ask for a kinder person who was always there for a to lend a shoulder or give sound advice. Most of all though, Gene was the best mom. She was always there for her family with a loving heart. Gene is survived by her loving sons, Ben Allen, Randy Allen, and Gary Allen; siblings, Melba Droess, Margaret Mays, and Bud Woodard; eight grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; among other family and friends. A Graveside service will be held at 1:30 pm on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Irving.
