Obituary

Joan Fredene Keedy, age 75, of Hurst, Texas, passed away on Thursday, June 14, 2018. She was born on June 2, 1943 in Cherokee, Oklahoma, the daughter of Earl Bodenheimer and Wilma Travis. Joan and her family relocated to Louisiana where she attended West Monroe High School. She was a member of The Master Gamma Tau sorority of Beta Sigma Phi for 40 years. Joan served in all offices and was currently the Treasurer. She was a beautiful woman who inspired many and was a friend to anyone she came in contact with. Joan spent many years supporting new entertainers and making new friends at The Flame. There were many nights at The Flame full of laughter, good music and her bright smile. Joan was also active in The American Legion in the latter years of her life. She loved to dance and play Keno. Most of all, Joan, loved spending time with her family, having dinners and getting everyone together. She was truly a great mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was truly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Joan is preceded in death by her parents, Earl Bodenheimer, Wilma Travis; and sister, Judy Rollins Barnes.

She is survived by her son, Michael Keedy; brother, Byron; granddaughter, Hannah Keedy; nephews, Byron (Bo) Bodenheimer and wife, Tracy, Bennie Rollins; nieces, Pam Rollins Brittan and husband, Steve, Kellie Rollins Dortch and husband, Jimmy, and Kathy Bodenheimer Maley; great nephews, Preston Bodenheimer, Jason Bodenheimer, Andrew Rollins, Eric Maley, Jacob Maley; great nieces, Kourtney Wise, Natalie Webster, Brittany Pruitt, Randi Rollins, Andrea Clark, Stephanie Bodenheimer, Erika Dortch; great great nephews, John Michael Cobb, Ever Pettit; great great niece, Addison Wilson; among numerous family and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 23rd at 10:30 am in the Chism-Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Irving.
