Obituary

Jeanette Ann Yunk, age 86 passed away on Thursday, November 1, 2018. She was born on October 24, 1932 in Scanlon, Minnesota to Oscar and Margaret Benson. They both preceded her in death along with her husband Martin Yunk, Sr.; son Joe Yunk; siblings Raymond, Marie and Dorothy; and granddaughter Amber Fitch; Jeanette attended Catholic School and belonged to the Catholic Church. She played on the Basketball team for her school. She was a wonderful mother that started making cookies for her kids November 1st and didn’t quit baking until the second week of December when she made each one their own “cookie box” and "Beef Jerky" and mail them to them. She loved to bake and each day they would come home from school to a fresh made goodies. Jeanette’s home was always clean and usually some kind of craft was being made. She made each one of her Grandchildren a baby blanket also. She Loved going out in the Boat on Sundays and swimming. She Loved going to the Beach when we Live in Florida. She enjoyed traveling especially to Las Vegas and playing Bingo. Jeanette will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She leaves behind her children, Sherie Miller (Jim), Margaret Smothers (Jim), Rick Yunk (Robin), Pamela Godwin (Ron) and Kimberly Yates (Cecil); grandchildren, Eric Miller, Jenny Meyers, Sean Yunk, Derek Yunk, Michael Sparks, Tammy Yunk, Jason Ford, Jeremy Ford, Matt Smothers, Kailey Smothers, Sandra Miles, Chuck Griffith, Jeff Yunk, Dan Yunk, Tonya Armfield, JR Turner, Jacob Turner, Tony Fitch, Megan Moon and Ashley Yates; 30 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 6th at Chism-Smith Funeral Home, 403 S. Britain Rd., Irving, TX 75060.
