Denzil Borden "Red" Myers passed from this life at 10:00 am on Monday, February 4, 2019, at Baylor Hospital in Irving, TX, at age 98 after an extended illness.

Denzil was born in Osceola, TX, June 5, 1920, to Harlen E. and Zula Godbey Myers. He was known for his sense of humor, his love of sports, hard work, devotion to his family, his love of singing gospel music and caring for others. Denzil grew up working on the family farm before serving in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He coached basketball and baseball in Grapevine, TX. He later worked as Manager and District Supervisor for Wards Drugs for many years around the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Denzil was a member of the Beltline Road Church of Christ in Irving.

Denzil Myers was preceded in death by his loving wife, Noma “Billie” Myers; sister, Etadorphia LaFollette; brother, Martell Myers; Daughter-in-Law, Lucille Marshall; and grandson, Keith Myers. He is survived by: son, Don Myers and his wife, Toni, of Grapevine; son, Kippy Myers and his wife, Debi, of Henderson, Tennessee; Step-son, Lloyd Marshall, of Irving; grandchildren, David Marshall and his wife, Deborah; Penny Howard and her husband, Roger, of Irving; Brandi Myers Gilbreath of Hurst; Abbie Myers of Grapevine; Randa Myers of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; Megan Myers of Lexington, Kentucky; and great grandchildren, Chandler Gilbreath of Hurst; Zane Bebout of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; and Keaton Gilbreath of Hurst; Samantha Randle and her husband, Collin, of Irving; Adam Stailey of Dallas; Dani Stailey of Coppell; Brianna Howard of Poteet; Kimberly Krnavek and Stephanie Krnavek of Colorodo; Troy Marshall of Texas; and great-great grandchildren, Loralie Leyva, Cerenity Byrd, Raelee Frazier, and SkylarFaye Irene Randle of Irving; Arianna Lopez of Poteet; and Levi Stailey of Dallas; and special friends, Harry and Maryann of Irving; and countless others. His smile, laughter and friendship to us all will be greatly missed.

Funeral arrangements will be handled by Chism and Smith Funeral Home in Irving. A Graveside Service to honor Denzil's life will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 6th at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery.
