Obituary

Dean Allen Tarver, known to friends as Toad, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2018 at the age of 55 years. Dean was born in Bethany, Oklahoma to W.S. and June Tarver on May 8, 1963. He moved to Irving, Texas with his family when he was a young child. Dean graduated from MacArthur High School in 1981 and began a 37 year career with the Dallas Morning News. He worked as a pressman and took great pride in making sure the paper was “put to bed” each day. One of his last requests to his coworkers was to “just keep printing the paper.”

Dean was married to his true love, Kari Jenkins and they made their home in Lewisville, Texas. Dean and Kari enjoyed traveling and were on a quest to attend a game at each Major League Baseball Field. He also enjoyed fly fishing with friends and was an avid Oklahoma Sooners fan. Dean is survived by his wife, Kari Tarver; son Ben Tarver; daughter Laura McAlister; brothers Duane Tarver and his wife Muriel, Dale Tarver and his wife Carolyn, David Tarver; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life filled with memories, friendship, and laughter will be held to honor Dean on Saturday, September 22nd at Jackson Pavilion at Rockledge Park on Lake Grapevine.

Hadn't seen Dean in years and I am deeply saddened by his passing. 1 of the BEST friends I EVER had! We used to fish, enjoy watching Cowboys games while having some cold ones and cooking baby backs and the list goes on forever! I love him dearly as I did "the old man", Dale and David, his brothers. Never was fortunate enough to meet Duane. All are very exceptional men! Dean was the greatest friend anyone could wish for! God Bless the whole family.
