Charles Ray Sharp, affectionately known as Charlie, passed away on January 21, 2026, at the age of 79. Born on October 28, 1946, in Dallas, Texas, Charles was the son of George Sharp and Bernice Jackson. He grew up in Oak Cliff, where he spent his formative years before embarking on a fulfilling career.
Charlie dedicated 25 years of his life to Jamerson Film Company in Dallas, Texas, a position that reflected his strong work ethic and determination. He was a proud member of the Baptist community, which shaped his values and guided his life choices. In addition to his professional endeavors, Charlie had a variety of hobbies that he cherished; amongst these were working on vehicles and riding motorcycles, activities that he enjoyed in the company of his family.
On August 11, 1980, Charlie married Gracie Davis, who was not only his beloved wife but also his confidant and partner. The couple shared many beautiful memories until Gracie's passing, which left a profound mark on Charlie's life.
Charlie’s legacy continues through his three grandchildren: Felicia, Payton, and Kevin, who brought immense joy to his life. He is also survived by two devoted sisters, Cathy and Monica, along with their husbands, Manuel and Butch. In addition, he leaves behind numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and special friends who held a significant place in his heart.
Charlie's life was marked by deep relationships and memories, including his love for adventure and moments shared riding dirt bikes with his nephews on weekends. Although he was often described as a shy individual, he carried with him an infectious spirit that endeared him to many, earning him the title of a great uncle.
He joins in eternal peace his beloved wife Gracie, his sons Joey and Chuck, stepson William, grandson Jimmy Ray, brother Dewayne, sister Diane, and a cherished dog named Good Dog.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all who provided care and support to Charles Ray during his most challenging times. His presence will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
