Edward Arriaga Jr., a beloved, kind, loving, caring Husband, Father, Grandfather, Son, Brother, and Friend, passed away on January 15, 2025, at the age of 67. Born on March 8, 1957, in Dallas, Texas, Edward was the son of Eduardo Arriaga and Angelina Gonzalez Arriaga. He grew up in Dallas, attending Spruce High School and El Centro College and later proudly served his country as a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Edward, a devout Christian, found joy in his faith and community. He loved spending time with his family especially his cherished grandchildren. Always encouraging, giving more than he received and putting others before himself. He enjoyed reading, Youtube, carpentry, wood working, remodeling, maintaining his beautiful yard, and learning new skills. He was very athletic, eating healthy, weight lifting, running, and taking brisk walks early morning.
Edward is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Mary Arriaga; his children Edward Valadez, Carlos Valadez, and Chris Arriaga; and his grandchildren Augustine, Orlando, Nathan, Matthew, Sophia, Alexa, Hunter, Luka, and Noah. He also leaves behind his extended family siblings Gustavo Espinoza, Juanita Aleman, Saul Espinoza, Carmen Ibarra, and numerous nephews and nieces.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Eduardo and Angelina Gonzalez Arriaga, as well as sisters Lillie Hutchinson, Sandra Espinoza, Geneva Santoya, and brothers Salome Espinoza, Marcello Espinoza, Raul Espinoza, and Joe Arriaga.
Edward's legacy of his faith, love, strength, encouragement and devotion will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy will continue on through his children and grandchildren and the memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
