Francisco Javier Chavira, born on October 20, 1956, in Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Mexico, passed away on November 15, 2025. He grew up in the town of Ejido La Casita, Chihuahua, where he developed a strong sense of community and family that would stay with him throughout his life.
A proud owner of Chavira Construction, Francisco dedicated himself to his work with passion and integrity, leaving a lasting mark on those who had the privilege to work alongside him. He combined his skill in accounting, which he honed through his studies, with his entrepreneurial spirit to create a flourishing business that served many throughout the years. Throughout his life, he was known for his unwavering commitment to quality and the personal touch he brought to every project. Some of his noteworthy projects include baseball fields at Nimitz High School in Irving, Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, Mustang Park and the Dallas Arboretum.
Francisco was married to Sally Sosa Chavira on June 14, 1977. Together, they nurtured a loving home filled with laughter and cherished memories. He is survived by his beloved wife, Sally Chavira, and their three children: Francisco and Josie Chavira, Javier and Ruthy Chavira, and Cecilia and Timothy Cole. He was also a devoted grandfather to five grandchildren: Jacquelin N. Chavira, Prescilla A. Chavira, Francisco J. Chavira, Chloe J. Chavira, and Naomi I. Chavira, and a great-grandparent to Amara G. Devine. His love for his family was evident as he delighted in spending time with his grandchildren, sharing stories, and creating lasting memories.
Francisco is also remembered by his sisters, Socorro Munoz, Maria Gonzalez, and Maria de la Luz Proo, as well as his brother, Jesus Torres Chavira. He was preceded in death by his parents, Juan de Dios Chavira and Antonia Torres de Chavira, alongside his brother Manuel A. Chavira and sisters Berthalicia Chavira, Florencia Chavira, and Alicia Garcia.
In his personal life, Francisco found joy in simple pleasures. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, where he found joy in planting trees and growing fruits and vegetables. He loved to gather with family and friends, often hosting cookouts that echoed with laughter and warmth. Francisco was a true craftsman, with a natural talent for building things with his hands. He took great pride in his mechanical skills and poured his heart into creating his favorite sanctuary—a “Cabana” in his backyard, where he relished the fresh air and the beauty of nature. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him, as he brought warmth and kindness to every interaction.
