Gary Cleatus Dow Herron

"Gary" Cleatus Dow Herron, age 76, of Euless, Texas, passed away Friday, November 25, 2022. Gary was born on October 30, 1946 in Leon, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by; Lowise Flatt, and Loranzy Dow Herron; sisters Bonnie Suggs and Donna Herron. He will be deeply missed by his wife Janet; children Laura, Mark, Erinn, Jana and Drew; his siblings Ray and Cheryl, David and Vanetta, and Denice; his grandchildren Wyatt, Max, Ava, August, Brighton, Clementine, Luca, Cali and Leah.

He joined the Navy in 1966 and was assigned to the Uss Oriskany (CV734). Upon honorable discharge and receiving many commendations; Vietnam Service Medal, The Bronze Star and The Air Crewman Insignia, his bond is still strong with his crewmembers today. His success as a salesman was due to a strong connection he made with others and his "gift of gab".

For the last forty years, Gary has enjoyed playing golf with his friends and family. Gary was passionate about the game of golf and he taught his children and grandchildren the proper etiquette of the game.

Gary will be honored at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery with a gathering to follow at Prairie Lakes Golf Club, a place where he spent many happy moments.
