It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Jimmie Harold Woodall, fondly known as Jim Woodall or Grand-Dad, who departed this life on December 30, 2025, at the age of 94. Born on January 4, 1931, in Fort Worth, Texas,

Raised in Fort Worth, Jim attended Polytechnic High School, where he cultivated lifelong friendships. Following his high school years, he continued his education at Texas Wesleyan University. He enlist in the U.S. Navy serving from 1951 to 1955, where he served as an Aviation Electricians Mate with VP-48. His military service was a source of pride, shaping the values he carried through life.

Jim's professional career was distinguished and varied. He dedicated many years to Acme Brick, followed by time at R.J. De Wees and Charles F. Williams, retiring in 2005. Beyond his work, Jim was known for his steadfast involvement with the Fort Worth Founder Lion's Club. Throughout his tenure, he took on many leadership roles, including President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Membership Officer. His contributions extended to serving on the board of the Kerrville Lions Club camp, dedicated to helping vision-impaired and diabetic youth.

Jim's faith was an integral part of his life. Raised in the Methodist Church, attending Polytechnic Methodist, following in the footsteps of his parents and his wife’s family. He took great pleasure in various hobbies, particularly playing cards with friends on Friday afternoons and participating in water aerobics. A true sports enthusiast, Jim passionately supported TCU and the Cowboys.

Jim shared a loving marriage with Patsy Ruth Butts Woodall, whom he wed on January 16, 1953. He leaves behind a legacy of love and family. Jim is survived by his son Doug Woodall and wife Jovita; his daughter Deanna Cox and husband Lee; his grandchildren Shawn Cox, Russ Chaney, Holly Williams, Dustin Woodall, Ashley Lee, and Morgan Woodall; as well as great-grandchildren Aaron, Madison, Garrett, Kaleb, Brooklynn, MacKenzie, Corbin, Destiny, Irelynn, Jayden, Roxen, and Mason. He also cherished the roles of great-great-grandfather to Addysyn and Acesyn.

Jim now joins his beloved wife Patsy, his son Russell Craig Woodall, his parents Esther and Roy Woodall, his brother R.L. Woodall, his sister June Cook, and brother-in-law Raymond Cook in eternal rest.

A visitation will be held in his honor at Chism-Smith Funeral Home in Irving, Texas, on January 5, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The funeral service will follow on January 6, 2026, at 1:30 PM, also at Chism-Smith Funeral Home. Jim will be laid to rest at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery on January 7, 2026, at 11:30 AM.

Jim Woodall’s life was a testament to love, service, and community. He will be missed dearly by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
