Margarita Quintero, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, and cherished member of her community, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2026. Born on June 10, 1944, in Dallas, Texas, Margarita lived a life deeply rooted in family, faith, and friendship.


Margarita was the devoted daughter of Bartolo R. Sotero and Gregoria L. Sotero. Paternal grandparents Atanacio & Concepcion R. Sotero and Maternal grandparents Guillermo & Vicenta D. Luna. She grew up in Dallas, Texas, surrounded by the love and support of her family. She was nurtured in the Catholic faith, which remained a cornerstone throughout her life.


Her death marks the end of a remarkable journey filled with love, laughter, and countless precious moments shared with those closest to her. Margarita was known for her warmth and her joy found in being with family and friends, a testament to the loving nature that defined her.


Margarita leaves behind a large and loving family who will carry her memory in their hearts always. She is survived by her daughter Gloria S. Landeros and her husband Alejandro Landeros, Sr.; her sons Carlos Sotero and Gilbert Sotero, Sr.; and her daughter Marie A. Sotero and her husband Tony Barbosa. Her grandchildren include Mary K. Phillips, Adam J. Sotero, Jr., Daniel R. Sotero, William C. Landeros, Sr., Daniel Landeros, Crystal V.N. Gonzalez, Jessica A. Sotero, Gilbert (Paul) Sotero, Jr., Nathaniel L. Mora, and JoNathan M. Sotero. Margarita's great-grandchildren – Karen E. Sotero, Samuel, Adriana, and Juanita Garcia, Gabriel, David Sotero, Nikki Marquez, William C. Jr., Andrew C., and Aubrey K. Landeros, Gianna, Michael, and Jorge Gonzalez, Isaiah J. Lujan Sotero, Elijah T. Shepherd, Regan A. and Everett S. Sotero, Angelo C. Chapa, Nickolas Mora, Jacquelyn N. Martinez – as well as her great-great-grandchildren Aiden Garcia, Aziel Borjas, Katherine and Marisol Martinez, Valexia Arriaga, and two more on the way, continue her legacy and embody the vibrant family she cherished. She is also survived by her sister Christina Sotero, six nephews, eight nieces, and countless cousins and friends whose lives she touched profoundly.


Margarita was preceded in death by her son Adam J. Sotero, Sr.; brothers Gilbert Luna, Sr., Richard, and Arthur Sotero; and grandchildren Alejandro Landeros, Jr., Stephanie M. Sotero, and Augustina Sotero.


The family extends special gratitude to JoNathan M. Sotero, who not only was her grandchild but also lovingly served as her caregiver in her final years, demonstrating unwavering dedication and compassion.

Margarita Quintero's life was a testament to enduring love, deep faith, and the joy found in close-knit family bonds. She will be remembered with profound respect and admiration by all who knew her. Her legacy lives on through her descendants and all whose lives she touched.
