Maria Trenise Ewing

Maria was born December 31, 1976 to Carol LaJoyce Smith and Dewayne Ewing in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Maria was adventurous in her youth and adored by her younger cousins. As she became a young woman and had her daughter Marise, she was very deliberate in her intentions to make her mark in the world. She moved to Cincinnati, Ohio to work as a dance coordinator for the Cincinnati Bengals’ cheerleaders and also modeled. Maria put herself through school gaining a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Masters in Public Administration/Data Science.

Moving to Texas, Maria and Marise were a formidable team! Working extremely hard and dedicated. Maria was a wonderful mother, daughter, granddaughter, niece, cousin and friend. She was very methodical. She lived her life always recounting the things she had learned from others especially her father and mother. She called her grandmother Delores every Wednesday. Maria was always willing to help family, many times it was in the form of a lessons learned, which she valued and lived by. She always made time to help family to research illnesses and find solutions. Maria was very close to her Aunts Gina and Rilla. She loved to dance and host Game nights. Maria was ethical, she demonstrated sound judgement and often expressed how she loved the person that her daughter Marise had become. She was simply a rare jewel!

She was preceded in death by her father Dewayne Ewing, paternal grandfather Sherman Ewing(twin)Therman, maternal grandmother Andrew Mae Smith(twin)Andrew Faye, maternal grandfather LC McFadden(twin)JC and uncle Melvin Smith, aunt Sylvia Smith(Special cousin Sadiki Taylor)

Maria is survived by daughter Marise Trenae, mother Carol LaJoyce, grandmother Delores Edwards. Siblings; Andre, Natasha, Marlon, Dewayne, Twalah, and DeWana,bonus siblings Charles, Briana, Keonte and Vernon. Aunts; Marilla (Ted), Regina (Richard), Linda, Murriel and Cheryl- Oklahoma City. Uncles; Roland (Pat)Oklahoma City, James Smith in Kentucky, Danny (Ann)San Diego Ca, Sherman Jr. Oklahoma City, Barryin Geary Ok, Lonnie- OKC, Larry-OKC and Ronnie-OKC. Nieces; Natalya, Ashlon, Mariah, Amaya, Amia, MaHari and London. Nephews; Demeko, DeAndre, Demarius, Daniel, Jordan and Major. (Special cousins Patricia, Patrice, Garrick, Dominique, Raina, Renita, Gregory) (Special auntie/uncle cousins Reata, Larry, Greg, Sullivan Jr) as well as many, many more cousins and friends.

A Family Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday November 22nd 2-3pm Oklahoma City OK.
