Matias Robledo Martinez passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family, on April 29, 2025, at the age of 88. He was born on June 26, 1936, in Espiritu Santo, Zacatecas, and grew up in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, surrounded by the rich culture and warmth of his family and community.
Matias was preceded in death by his parents, Antonio Robledo and Perfecta Martinez de Robledo, and by his beloved wife, Apolonia Alfaro. He also mourned the loss of his two sons, Juan Manuel and Reynaldo Robledo. Despite these profound losses, Matias remained a pillar of strength and guidance for his extended family.
He is survived by his children, who carry on his legacy: Sergio Robledo, Francisco Robledo, Severiano Robledo, Juan Manuel Robledo, Marta Robledo, Sergio Robledo, Maria Robledo, Miguel Robledo, Lydia Robledo, Jose Luis Robledo, Dalia Robledo, Veronica Robledo, Marco Antonio Robledo, and Juan de Dios Robledo. Matias was also a proud grandfather to a multitude of grandchildren: Jose Julian, Marta Guadalupe, Susana Berenice, Jorge Alberto, Cristina, Brenda Sarahi, Anahi Itzagueri, Gian Carlos, Evelyn Melissa, Angel Jesus, Miguel, Lisseth, Matthew Alexander, Joe Freddy, Frank Ivan, Lourdes Maria, Yazmin, Kareen, Sijifredo, Larissa Michelle, Alexis Yamile, Ariana Isabella, Horeb Tomas, and Sarahi. He is survived by his four sisters, Dolores Robledo, Bertha Robledo, Andrea Robledo de Rubio, Maria de los Angeles Robledo de Cardenas, as well multitude of nieces and nephews.
The joy of his life multiplied with the arrival of his great-grandchildren, who brought him immense pride and happiness: Julian, Landon, Apolo, Aldahair, Monserrat, Victoria, Fatima, Michel, Nicolas, Leyvy, Alexa, Alayna, Matthew Xavier, Sebastian, Fatima, Fabiola, Fernando, Lorenzo Roman, Priscilla Ana, Ariella Marie, Delilah Arielle, Damian Antonio, and Sayda Evangelina.
Matias lived a life marked by love, resilience, and the values he instilled in his family. His legacy is one of devotion and unyielding support, which will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
Visitation will be held on May 5, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM, followed by a Prayer Service at 6:30 PM at Chism-Smith Funeral Home in Irving, Texas. The Funeral Service will take place the following day, May 6, 2025, at 11:00 AM, with burial to follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens.
