Nellie Sue Reynolds

Nellie Sue Reynolds, born on June 3, 1933, in Mt Pleasant, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2026. Nellie lived a long and meaningful life, leaving behind a legacy rooted in hard work, dedication, and a deep love for her family and animals.

Daughter to Howard P. Rochelle and Gladys Odom, Nellie grew up surrounded by the rolling hills and gentle beauty of Tennessee. Through the years, she exemplified the values of her upbringing: kindness, resilience, and generosity. Nellie dedicated over 20 years of her professional life as a baker for Wonder Bread, where her diligence and steady presence were valued by both coworkers and customers. Following her well-earned retirement, Nellie found joy in caring for her horses and other animals, making her home a haven for those she nurtured. Gardening brought her endless satisfaction, and she could often be found tending to her yard, watching something beautiful grow from her hard work.

Family was always at the heart of Nellie's life. She treasured the time she spent with those closest to her, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Many fond memories were made gathered together, the generations bonded by her warmth and wisdom. Nellie is survived by her loving daughter, Susan Chism of Crandall, TX; her two grandsons, Cody Brazier and his wife Nicole of Canton, TX, and Travis Chism and his wife Brittani of Mabank, TX; as well as her cherished great-grandchildren: Tyler Brazier, Hayden Brazier, Koda Brazier, Avery Chism, Bailey Chism, Conlee Chism, and Lottie Sue Chism. She is also remembered by her siblings: brother Ralph Wallace Rochelle, and sisters Bonnie Bassham, Evelyn Burgett, Beverly Grooms, and Doris Broderick, all of Tennessee.

Nellie was preceded in death by her husbands, Floyd K. Reynolds and William R. Rose; her beloved son, Larry Neil Reynolds; and her son-in-law, Michael Chism. She is also mourned by extended family and friends, each touched by her kindness over the years.

Those who knew Nellie will remember her loving spirit, unwavering work ethic, and the simple joys she embraced throughout her life. Her legacy of selflessness, stewardship, and care for both people and animals will live on in those who were fortunate enough to know her.
