Paul Harold Durham, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on September 24, 2025, at the age of 97.
Paul was born on May 7, 1928, in Sherman, Texas, where he also grew up. He was the son of Roy Lee Durham and Maggie Dale Durham, who taught him the value of hard work and dedication to family.
He served as a Corporal in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was awarded the Korean Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars. His time in the military was something he was always proud of.
After returning home, Paul attended the Apostolic Bible Institute in St. Paul, Minnesota. On September 2, 1955, he married Margaret LaJuan Boatman, and together they began a life full of love, faith, and family.
Paul is survived by LaJuan, his wife of 70 years; their children, Ron Durham of Irving, and Lisa Day and her husband Levi of Haslet; and his grandchildren, Laura Day of Rhome and Robyn Day of Dallas. They were the center of his world.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings: Pauline, Raymond, Ardis, Thomas, Helen, Ruby, Betty, and infant brother J.T.
Paul found joy in the simple things, especially going for walks and spending time with his two granddaughters. To them "Papa" was a hero.
Paul will be remembered for his steady presence, quiet strength, and the deep care he showed for those around him. His life touched many, and his memory will live on in the hearts and stories of those who knew and loved him.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on October 7, 2025, at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery.
