Paul Frank Eichelberger

Paul Frank Eichelberger, aka The Greatest Man Ever, born in Dallas, Texas, in 1944, passed away after a long and well-lived life surrounded by the people and memories he loved.

A proud graduate of the University of Texas, Paul built a successful career as a local food broker. He was known for his strong work ethic, unwavering integrity, and the respect he showed everyone he met—qualities that earned him the admiration of friends, colleagues and family alike.

Paul was a proud descendant of the beloved Nonnie and Papaw Eichelberger, and he carried a deep appreciation for his family’s heritage throughout his life. More importantly, he passed those values on to his own family. He taught the importance of family, independence, keeping your word, and hard work. His son proudly credits Paul with instilling the work ethic and principles that continue to guide him today.

Home was always full of life. Paul never minded living in what he jokingly called a “dog house,” sharing his home over the years with beloved pets including Maggie, Ebby, Zoi, Charlie, fish, a bearded dragon named Tiffany, rabbits, and even, for a brief time, a pot-bellied pig named Stormin’ Norman. He was the dad who happily drove his son and friends wherever they needed to go, later laughing that, “You and your friends would start talking like I wasn’t even there.”

Paul had a warm smile, a playful sense of humor, and a generous heart. He treasured the time spent with his son through Indian Guides and Boy Scouts, shared a lifelong appreciation for Native American art, and was a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan; Go Cowboys!!

His greatest legacy, however, lives on through the next generation. His grandchildren adored him and will be raised with the same values Paul taught: always say “Please” and “Thank you,” no elbows on the table, never sit when a woman stands, always walk between a woman and traffic, hold the door open for others, and always leave the place better than you found it.

The Chateau became Paul’s final home—a place he loved deeply and refused to leave. Filled with the friends, family, laughter, and memories that meant everything to him, he enjoyed a joyful life, and so much of that joy was found within these walls.

Paul’s family is grateful to everyone who became part of his journey. His life was one of kindness, loyalty, laughter, and quiet strength. His legacy will continue through all those who were fortunate enough to know him and all of us he would proudly call family.
