Roxie Dotson, passed away on June 23, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on September 30, 1935, in DelBarton, West Virginia, she was the daughter of Claude Vernatter and Veda Runyon Vernatter. Roxie's formative years in DelBarton shaped her into a person of warmth and kindness, traits that she carried throughout her life.

After completing high school in DelBarton, Roxie made the brave decision to move to Columbus, Ohio, where she embarked on a new chapter that would lead to the love of her life. It was there that she met her husband, Edmund Dotson. They were united in marriage on January 16, 1956, embarking on a journey of partnership that would span several decades.

Roxie devoted herself to her role as a wife, mother, and homemaker. She found joy in shopping, gardening, and her monthly Bridge Club. These hobbies brought her much contentment during her younger years. She cherished the moments spent with her family and was always there to offer love and support.

Roxie is survived by her daughter, Pamela Briseno, and her husband Jaime; son Ryan Dotson, and his partner Sherri Crawford. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Matthew Briseno, Michael Briseno and his wife Amanda, Justin Dotson, Mallory Reyes and her husband Joe, Nathan Dotson and his wife Kendyll, Cameron Dotson, Keeton Dotson, and eight great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy and pride. She is also survived by her sister, Jenny Holman, and brother, Otis Vernatter, along with several nieces and nephews who will remember her fondly.

Roxie's departure leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew her, including her predeceased loved ones: her husband, Edmund Earl Dotson; son, Edwin Earl Dotson; her parents Claude and Veda Vernatter; brothers Burl Vernatter and Ted Vernatter; and sisters Betty Jo Heath, Claudine Howard, CloeAnn Copley, Juanita Blackburn, and Lummie Brown. Each of these individuals played a significant role in her life, and their memories will continue to live on through her family.

As we celebrate Roxie's life, we remember her kindness, her laughter, and her unwavering spirit. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends, but her love will forever remain in their hearts.
