Marvin Hodges Obituary

Marvin Ray Hodges, born on December 9th, 1944, in Dallas, Texas, bid farewell to this world on December 11th, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. He was the beloved son of James M Hodges and Willie P Hodges.

Growing up in Irving, Texas, Marvin attended Irving High School, marking the beginning of a journey that would see him touch the lives of many with his warm heart and genuine spirit. In 1965, Marvin answered the call to serve his country, proudly donning the uniform of the United States Army.

A devoted member of Christ Church, Marvin found solace and strength in his faith, embracing the teachings that shaped his character and guided his path. Outside the sanctuary, he found joy in the thrill of car races, a passion that fueled his adventurous spirit and brought a twinkle to his eyes.

Marvin's love extended beyond the racetrack; he had a deep fondness for animals, recognizing the unique companionship they offered. His kindness and compassion were evident in the way he cared for and cherished every furry friend that crossed his path.

In the tapestry of Marvin's life, family held a special place. He is survived by his loving daughter, Tina Mitchell, stepson Jerry Murray, and step-grandson Nicholas Murray. Their lives were enriched by his presence, and the memories shared will forever be cherished.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, James M and Willie P Hodges, and his beloved wife, Sharon Ann Magee Hodges. Reunited in eternity, they watch over those who mourn, their love an everlasting beacon in the hearts of those who knew them.

As we remember Marvin Ray Hodges, let us celebrate a life well-lived, a man who touched the lives of many and left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love that he so generously shared during his time on this earth.
