Olga Uribe Obituary

Olga Amada Uribe, age 87 of Irving, Texas went home to her Heavenly Father on
Tuesday, September 22, 2020. She was born on September 7, 1933 in Austin,
Texas to Reverend Ignacio and Gregoria Gonzalez. Olga is preceded in death by
both her parents and sister, Orfalinda Castro and her brother, Homero Gonzalez.
The Daughter of a Mexican Baptist Minister, she was passionate about serving the
Lord and ministering His Word. While attending Nursing School in Austin, she met
the love of her life, Alfred Uribe. Olga returned to Corpus Christi after she
graduated from Nursing School, she began a long and successful career in
Nursing. In 1957 she and Alfred were married. Throughout various moves, she
continued to work in local hospitals. Her Husband’s job brought them to Dallas in
the early 1960’s and they settled in Irving. She worked as a supervisor at Parkland
Hospital and then moved to the then new Irving Community Hospital. After
several years, she was asked to help in the creation of a clinic in West Dallas that
could better served the health needs of the children in the area. Olga treated
generations of families during her time. She was a devoted wife, mother, and
grandmother. Olga kept things running smoothly and instilled a strong faith in her
family. She was part of the International Friends group at Plymouth Park
Church where she and Alfred were long time members. Olga will be greatly
missed. She leaves behind her husband of 63 years, Alfred Uribe; daughter, Nina
Lambert and husband David; son, Omar Uribe and wife Cheryl; brother, Horacio
Gonzalez and wife Gloria; sister, Obdulia Saenz; grandchildren, Amanda Lambert,
Daniel Lambert, Alexandra Uribe and Adrianna Uribe; and countless other family
members and friends. The family will receive friends at Chism-Smith Home on
Friday, September 25th from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon with the Funeral Service
following the visitation. A private burial will be later that day at Oak Grove
Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to International Friends at Plymouth Park Baptist Church and Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
