Guy Edward Delp passed from this life on Dec. 28th 2018. He is now living with Jesus, his Lord and Savior. His absence from us creates a hole that is keenly felt. We miss him dearly. He was the patriarch of our family: husband, father, grandfather. He was born in Huntsville, Alabama on September 2nd, 1944. His family moved to Chicago when he was about two, where they stayed until he was in High School. At this point they moved again to Fort Lauderdale Florida, where he very much enjoyed living until he signed up for the army in 1962. He was eventually sent to Korea where he guarded the 38th parallel and worked in the DMZ. It was during his time in Korea that he understood and accepted the free gift of salvation offered by God the Father through Jesus’s death on the cross. From the time of his decision to follow Christ until he was recently unable, he was involved in all sorts of ministries: preaching to and teaching adults, missions, youth ministry and kids church. He loved to study the word of God and share with others. In 1965 he was discharged from his time of Service. He met Victoria at that time and they married on June 18, 1966. They have been married for over 52 years. Ed also went to Moody Bible Institute, and then went on to finish a B.A. degree in sociology with an emphasis in terrorism. He worked as a security specialist in several different companies until he retired. Ed has left behind his wife Victoria, his three children, Heidi Griffin with her husband Will, Grant with his wife Amy, and Rachel Jackson with her husband Camren. He also has eight grandchildren who love him dearly and will miss him very much: Luke, Allan, Rose, Elizabeth, Henry, Faith, Hailee, and Hayden. Ed also leaves behind his sister Lily Stasik with her husband Rick Esker and his niece Claire Esker.

A memorial service will be held Friday, January 25 at 2:00 pm at Prestonwood Baptist Church in the Faith Chapel. The address is:
