Leon Barton, age 70 of Tool, Texas passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2019 with his family by his side. He was born on August 23, 1948 in Dallas to Alvis and Martha Barton. They preceded him in death along with is sister, Vickie Viann Vega; brother and sister-in-law, David and Kathy Barton; sister-in-love, Brenda Felts. Leon married Juanita 37 years ago who was the love of his life. He worked for 30 years as a welder for Lehigh Hanson formerly Gifford Hill American. Leon adored his family .He loved to give. He enjoyed painting, making things with wood and was the best story teller but you always had to figure out if it was true or not. He was a deacon of Cornerstone Church for years before he got sick. Leon survived Lung Cancer and he fought every battle with faith that God had a plan for him to finish. His family will cherish his memory and miss him dearly. Survivors include, wife Juanita Barton; children, John Barton and wife Marie, Michael Barton and wife Karyn, Jeffery Barton and wife Lora; brother, Charles Gene Barton and wife Adella; brother-in-love, Glen Michael Felts and wife Mary;16 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren on the way; and loads of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members, as well as many adopted children and grandchildren. A Service to Celebrate Leon's life will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 24th at Cornerstone Church, 115 S. MacArthur Blvd., Irving, TX 75060.
