Jerry Climer, 67, of Irving TX, passed away on Friday, March 15, 2019. He was born on May 30, 1951 in Aubrey, Arkansas, the son of Rufus and Ruby Climer. Jerry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. In 1970 he enlisted in The United States Marine Corp. He was a skilled carpenter and jack of all trades. Jerry was always out in the woods, and he loved to hunt and fish. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Kathleen Climer; daughters; Jennifer and wife, Bre, Jessica and husband, Danny, and Jaime; grandchildren, Jeremy, Justin, Jacob, Julianna, Jocelyn, Vincent, and Daniel; siblings, Tina, Bonnie, Wesley, Herschel, Diane, Brenda, and Ricky; several nieces and nephews; among numerous other family and friends. Jerry along with his beloved wife were always opening their home to any child who needed a home. It didn't matter if it was for a week, a month, or years. There always seemed to be a child other than their own who needed a safe place to stay. It is because of this that he is also survived by several extra daughters and grandchildren and much loved by all. He was a great friend to many. A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 25, 2019 at 1:00 pm in the Chism-Smith Funeral Home Chapel.

I think I remember him most for his "good ole boy" sense of humor. He was well loved, and will be greatly missed.

Uncle Jerry was one of a kind. His accent, his character and his love for his numerous skills and hobbies are what I remember about him. I spent some one on one time with him a long time ago and he would always have something to talk about like welding on high rises or his old red truck. We barbecued that day and reminisced about how that time we were fishing and I had put my pole on a holder and a few minutes later it flew into the water. I wish I could make it to his funeral services. May you rest in peace Jerry.

Words cannot adequately express how saddened I was to learn that Uncle Jerry passed a little after 11 A.M. on Friday, March 15, 2019.

No words or actions can offer you comfort at this time (so I am not even going to try).

Just know that, as always, you are in my thoughts and prayers.  If you need me, I am only a mouse-click ([email protected]) or phone call (870.932.5563) away.

I will always remember him for his gregarious personality - no one could tell a story quite like Uncle Jerry.

I did not have the pleasure of being around him that much; but the times that I was, he was ALWAYS nice to me.  And, for that, I am most grateful.

I am so sorry that I was not able to attend the service.  Dad has been experiencing back problems since last fall, and he did not feel that he was capable of making the trip.

I hope that you understand.

Uncle Jerry will never be forgotten!
